A missed period or the possibility of an unexpected pregnancy can be one of the most stressful situations to be in as a woman. It can send your mind racing through all the scenarios where you could’ve forgotten to take birth control or not being sure if you were ovulating.

Thousands of women have been in your shoes and it’s okay if you’re not sure what to do– we won’t judge you for it. If this sounds like your situation and you’re looking for help in the Four Corners Region, then Grace Place Family Health Center in Farmington, NM is a great place to start.

Many questions come when faced with the possibility of an unexpected pregnancy: How can I be sure I’m pregnant? How far along could I be? What are my options if I am?

These are all normal things to be thinking about but don’t cause yourself unnecessary worry. For starters, confirm your pregnancy. There are a few ways you can do this. At Grace Place Family Health Center, we have someone who can talk to you about any concerns you have as well as administer a medical-grade pregnancy test. This is a great option if you prefer to keep your concerns confidential or are unable to pay for a pregnancy test.

Depending on your pregnancy test results, you may be eligible for a limited obstetrical ultrasound, which can help with a few important things. First, it can help determine the estimated gestational age of your pregnancy. This can be especially useful if you have irregular periods or can’t remember the first day of your last menstrual period. Secondly, an ultrasound can confirm if you have a viable (capable of living) intrauterine (implanted in the correct place) pregnancy. It might sound like there’s a lot to remember, but all you need to do is take one step at a time.

We also offer in-house Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) testing as a limited service to women who meet a certain eligibility. A medical staff member is available to offer consultation depending on the outcome of your STI test. They can help answer any questions, direct you toward resources, and provide you with information for treatment.
