Recognizing symptoms of possible pregnancy can often lead women to start researching on the internet for clues indicating whether they’re pregnant or not. It’s understandable that it can be stressful not knowing if you’re pregnant, but you don’t have to sort through the symptoms and uncertainty alone. At Grace Place Family Health Center we’re here for you anytime, and we offer medical grade pregnancy testing at our Farmington, New Mexico health center.
Here are a few early symptoms which can come with pregnancy; however, keep in mind that having these symptoms doesn’t necessarily indicate pregnancy.
Morning Sickness
This symptom can be one of the earliest signs of pregnancy as it can make its presence known even before a missed period. Characterized by nausea and, at times, vomiting, this symptom is often misnamed, as it can occur at any time of day.
Fatigue
It’s not uncommon for pregnancy to cause women to feel more tired than usual since hormonal shifts, increased blood volume, and energy changes can lead to fatigue.
Changes in Breasts
Breast tenderness, swelling, and soreness can sometimes be early signs of pregnancy. Changes in hormones related to pregnancy, particularly estrogen and progesterone, can trigger these changes in the body.
Frequent Urination
Hormonal and bodily changes related to pregnancy can put pressure on the bladder and lead to frequent urination.
Mood Swings
Mood swings related to pregnancy can range from happiness to anxiety due to the influx of hormones in the body.
Again, having these symptoms doesn’t necessarily indicate pregnancy. It’s empowering to educate yourself in recognizing common symptoms of pregnancy but the only way to know for sure if you’re pregnant is with a medical grade pregnancy test. Pregnancy tests are most accurate when you take them after a missed period.
